Inter School Dandiya Competition

Senior students left the audiences and jury which composed of renowned personalities like Mr Govinda(Actor),Mr Ganesh Acharya(Choreographer),etc mesmerised by their innovative and dedicated performance.The school got 3rd prize and was also awarded for best body language and best choreography.The regular training and practice yielded sweet fruits.

IIAD Competition

Indian Institute of Art & Design organized “A Recycle Design Product Contest” on 12/9/15 at St. Xaviers High School, Gandhi Maidan Patna. Our students won second prize in senior group and consolation in Junior group. Our school also won the trophy of “Most Creative School”.

Janmashtami Celebration

As every year this year also Janmashtami has been celebrated with pomp and show. Students presented songs, drama & dance on the theme Krishna and His acts. The whole school was decorated with colourful flowers and decorative items. The charm in the occasion was added by including teachers’ day celebration with it. It was celebrated on 4/9/15.The young students in the apparels of Radhe-Krishna were looking mesmerizing.

Kavi Sammelan

A Kavi Sammelan was organised for the students of Classes VI to X on 18/08/2015. Students presented many poems on different aspects of life. Some were inspirational, motivational, humorous etc. Many had prepared their own compositions. Audience were always encouraging with sounds of clapping . Budha House became the winner.

Visit to Zoo by Pre-Primary Wing

As a parts of ISA activity students of classes 1 & 2 were taken to Patna Zoo on 18/8/2015. They got a chance to know more about the animals and birds and observe their features. The students were very excited and happy. They had learning with fun. They also enjoyed sharing their lunch. The preprimary students also went to Zoo to have picnic.

Independence Day

The 69th Independence Day was celebrated with great pomp and show. Students presented many patriotic songs and dances. Motivational speech given by the Principal,Ms Anita Singh filled the feeling of patriotism among our students.The V.P.,Mr Bijay Kumar Sahu thanked all for putting up a good show and encouraged to be a responsible citizen. Students were also given scholar awards on the same day. At the end they happily left the campus with sweets and flags in their hands.

Rakhi Making Competition

Rakhi Making Competition was held on 13/8/15. Students of class -1 to V participated in it.

To celebrate the festival Raksha Bandhan students made rakhis in their own unique ways. They used grains, flowers, stones and other decorative materials. Girls were taken to several police stations to tie rakhis to the police personnel. They also went to the Danapur army Cant and tied rakhis to army men and sent rakhis for soldiers at the border. The efforts of the school were highly praised by the police, army & media. Their rakhis were judged by their respective class teachers.

Investiture’s Ceremony

UMWS, Patna always believes in inculcating leadership qualities in our students.To announce the names and designations of the new cabinet members the Investiture ceremony of 2015-16 was organized on 3/7/15. Students presented a smart march past. They were motivated by encouraging words by SGM, Captn (Dr.) Tarun Singhal. The Principal Ms. Anita singh congratulated the office bearers. Kritika Singh was selected as the school captain. Other House Captains, Vice Captains, Sports Captain & Vice Captains & prefects were awarded with badges and sashes. The Vice Principal Mr. Bijay Kumar Sahu thanked all concerned for putting up an impressive show.

SIT & DRAW COMPETITION

UMWS, Patna always endeavors to raise global issues & inculcate the sense of responsibility among our students & society. To celebrate the World Environment Day, like previous years, a Sit & Draw competition was organized at Eco Park on 7/5/15 under the guidance of the SGM, Capt (Dr.) Tarun Singhal. Students of age group 3 to 18 years from different nook and corner of Patna participated enthusiastically in it. Students were divided age wise into three groups. The topics related to environment were given on the spot. Drawing sheets , crayons, pencils etc were provided by the school. Students depicted a great show of their imagination, creativity & understanding through their paintings. The Principal , Mrs Anita Singh welcomed the distinguished guests from forest department. She also motivated students to perform their duties in conserving nature. The whole park was decorated with slogans and banners made by students.The Vice Principal, Mr. Bijay Kumar Sahu gave participation certificates to all the students and said the winners soon be informed and awarded . He thanked all concerned for their dedicated efforts in making this event a successful one.

SUMMER CAMP

At UMWS we use time as a tool and not as a couch so we try to utilize all our time in the best possible way. A vibrant summer camp was organized in this summer vacation also. Different events like Swimming, Painting, Music , Dance, Communication Skill, Art & Craft etc were the main attraction. Students of different schools explored their new areas of interest & groomed their existing ones. They enjoyed the vacation with a lot of learning & fun. The ten days camp ended with a dynamic presentation by all participants. The Principal, Ms. Anita Singh encouraged the participants with her worthy words and gave each a participation certificate. The V. Principal, Mr. Bijay Kumar Sahu thanked the parents , students and trainers for making the camp a grand success.

‘SPECTRUM – 2015’ ANNUAL FUNCTION

7th February, 2015 was a day filled with enthusiasm and joy in Usha Martin World School, Sampatchak,Patna. On this day a Cultural Extravaganza, Spectrum-2015′ on the occassion of the Annual Day was organized. The whole premises of the school looked colourful like a spectrum with various types of decorations.

On this day C.E.O of Usha Breco Ltd. Col. Rakesh Sharma, Dr. Tarun Kumar Singhal, S.G.M Usha Breco Ltd and Principals of several reputed schools of Patna were present. Mrs. Rashmi Tripathi ‘Regional Officer’ CBSE Patna was the Chief Guest of the event. The school was blessed by the presence of Mr. Inderpaul Johar, an Educationist and Regeneration Consultant from London.

The cultural programme was started by a welcome speech by Mr. Bijay Kumar Sahu, Vice Principal followed by the auspicious ‘Diya Lighting’ followed by ‘ Ganesh Vandana’.The primary and pre-primary students presented exuberant performances like flower dance, bird dance and animal dance. The parents and guardians were overwhelmed to see their childrn performing in these vibrant outfits. The play on life of Rani Laxmibai presented by the primary students reminded the audiences of the Mughal Era. The miraculous presentation of the play and the expressions of the students displayed the skills and zeal of the students.

Moreover other colourful programmes like Medley song, Mime, Qawwali were also presented.The senior sections performances were beyond comparison. The rhythm and coordination of the students held the attention of the audience. A song based on ‘Raag Vihag’ enraptured them all. The thematic hilarious play ‘Bon Appetite’ conveyed the harmful effects of junk food in an appreciable manner. The Dandiya dance presentation depicted the serenity of goddess Durga in every woman. All students demonstrated their abilities to the fullest. The inspiring words of the Educationists and the dignitaries of the city were interspersed in between the flow of the events. ‘Bihu dance’ took the audience into the land of Assam.The principal of the school Ms. Anita Singh presented the ‘Annual Report’ of the school in which she threw light on the academic activities and also on the all-round development of the Usha Martin students. She also told effective ways of motivating students which can lead them on the path of success. The day ended with the motivational song ‘Jai Ho’ followed by the ‘Thanks giving speech by Dr. Tarun Kumar Singhal. The contribution of all staff members of the school led to the success of this event. The day ended with a salute to our nation, the singing of the Indian National Anthem.
