On the other hand primary classes (I–V) were busy developing their academic skills like building sentences, group discussion, exchange of knowledge in science and mathematics by peer learning projects. To instill equal respect to all religion creative activities were conducted. Nature is the best preacher and to bring awareness in children various nature based activities were conducted like leaf zoo, chidiyan ka ghosla, skit presentation and tree plantation.
In middle section the academic activities included group elocution, group reading, Geography week, Hindi week and Maths week. The internal Yoga Day on 21 June was celebrated by mass yoga and meditation by all the students & teachers too.
To keep the environmental awareness alive one full week of ‘Haritotsav’ Green festival was celebrated which included various kind of green activities.
The Music Pendora was organized named as “Chhote Ustad” to instill values of music in human life. Children were made aware about how music helps in overcoming stress and anexiety.
All festivals of India were observed with great enthusiasm. Inspired by the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission” – UMWS carried a social awareness move with a view to inculcate the spirit of hygiene and cleanliness in students from initial years of their schooling. The students along with the teachers cleaned the surrounding environment of the school and also talked to the local people regarding this programme.
This year UMWS was honored by the International School Award by British Council. The Principal and the team of teachers were awarded by merit certificate and now the school is internationally recognized as a center of excellence. This year more than 300 children participated in the SOF Olympiads and more than 100 achieved Gold, Silver and bronze medals. The team of UMWS with collaboration of a local hospital organized Health Camp for free medical check-up of all students, parents & teachers.
